The BOURDON SPRING (or tube) pressure gauges are instruments used to measure the relative pressure of industrial GASSES and LIQUIDS.

In these devices the pressure-sensitive element is a spring, a special folded steel tube with an oval cross-section (the Bourdon tube). The fluid being measured (which can be diesel oil, hydraulic oil, nitrogen, gas…) acts on the spring causing a movement on the end of it. This movement is subsequently transmitted according to a force proportional to the pressure of the measured fluid. The pointer will indicate on the dial the value of the pressure reached.
